Shipping Clerk


Our Adrian, MI customer is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk for a contract position (April 1, 2015 - Sept. 15, 2015) at $12 per hour. MUST WORK 11:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Responsibilities:
To support the Shipping Dept. in all necessary activities specifically, providing clerical support to the organization.
Assign carriers for shipments using freight websites
Scheduling outbound truckload shipments and updating the calendar
Prepare domestic and/or export paperwork for shipments
Check orders for accuracy prior to shipment
Greet carriers and direct to the appropriate docks
Prepare inventory/cycle counts for operators
SAP computer transactions and filing
Regulatory compliance with transportation and TSCA laws.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Associates Degree with 2
years of clerical/shipping experience is preferred (prior experience with domestic and export shipments strongly preferred).
Must possess solid Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), along with the ability to multi-task and efficiently operate in a stressful work environment, requiring detail, speed and accuracy.
Knowledge of domestic transportation including FedEx, etc.
SAP knowledge a definite plus.
Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) and be detail-oriented.
Ability to follows directions and instructions
Housekeeping skills and cleanliness is a must
Working Mon-Fri 11:00 a.m-7:30 p.m. with a hr unpaid lunch

Other Requirements:
Safety shoes/steel toed work shoes/boots are absolutely required
Safety glasses are required; if prescription glasses are needed by the employee they have shields that go on them, as no contacts can be worn in the chemical plant
Business casual; slacks/pants are required as will be working in a plant/mfg environment.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
