Full-time Community Bereavement Liaison We are looking for a Community Bereavement Liaison.

The Community Bereavement Liaison supports the mission of Hospice of Lenawee by providing supportive grief services to individuals of all ages and their family members.
Essential Job
Responsibilities:
Works with clients and families in a non-judgmental manner to facilitate anticipatory grief and to educate.
Assesses intake calls and gives the appropriate information for care or referral.
Participates in developing programs related to grief.
Develops and updates grief support materials on the Hospice of Lenawee website, which will be made available to the greater community.
Participates in presentations on grief related to death and dying in the community and at Hospice of Lenawee.
Facilitates support groups and regularly assesses the continuation of such groups based on group participation, attendance, and community need.
Provides back-up support to the Kaleidoscope Program.
Provides grief support and counseling with children/adolescents, family systems, and school personnel in the Lenawee County school district as needed.
Provide support, encouragement and education for children and their families regarding grief and bereavement issues related to the death of a loved one.
Coordinates, organizes, and schedules school-based grief counseling services in a timely manner as needed.
Maintains accurate, timely, and current client records and reports related to all bereavement services provided and bereavement volunteer hours.
Responsible for learning and utilizing technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication, and performance of duties.
Be knowledgeable of and follow policies and procedures set by Hospice of Lenawee.
Holds all patient information in strictest confidence and discloses information and data only to persons authorized by Hospice of Lenawee.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as determined appropriate by supervisory staff and/or management.
Demonstrates willingness and flexibility to work different and/or extended shifts when needed.
Presents appropriate professional appearance in accordance with Hospice of Lenawee policies.
Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training.
Complies with attendance policy and is physically at assigned location to fulfill job responsibilities and functions.
Qualifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to respond to a community crisis situation with appropriate skills and interventions as needed for the individuals involved in a variety of situations.
Demonstrates knowledge of trauma informed service delivery.
Demonstrates knowledge of the grief process and the impact of grief on family systems.
Demonstrates knowledge of the group process and the ability to facilitate group discussions.
Demonstrates exceptional skill in counseling grieving people.
Knowledge of and ability to assess suicide ideation.
Demonstrates excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
Possesses strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively and professionally with patients, families, and other team members.
Demonstrates ability to function as a team member, collaborate with coworkers on different shifts, positions, and departments to promote teamwork and inclusion.
Demonstrates interest, compassion, and empathy for the terminally ill and is comfortable with issues of death and dying.
Is self-aware and asks for help when the need arises.
Demonstrates ability to read, write, and follow direction and instruction.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Education/Credentials:
LMSW or MA, LCP or LLBSW to LBSW Valid driver license and vehicle with current insurance.
Experience:
Clinical counseling experience pertinent to issues of death, loss, and grief.
Experience with dying patients and their families.
Experience working with community resources.
Position Status/Classification:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
