Summary:
The Admissions Counselor position is responsible for recruiting prospective students to the College and meeting institutional enrollment goals.
The successful candidate will:
Represent the College off-campus by traveling to high schools to meet with and present information about Adrian College to prospective students, counselors and alumni educators, as well as travel to churches and other organizations for group presentations.
Responsible for attending college fairs and other special events within assigned territory.
Relationship development with prospective students, parents, school and church officials, alumni, and others, while successfully collaborating with faculty, staff and college administrators.
Responsible for guiding students through a comprehensive enrollment process and maintaining application management within assigned territory, from initial inquiry and application, to oversight of file completion.
Responsible for recommending an admission decision and reviewing academic transcripts to determine merit scholarship eligibility according to institutional guidelines.
Represent the College on-campus by meeting with prospective students and their families to conduct admissions visits or information sessions.
Responsible for facilitating group visits to campus as requested by schools or organizations within assigned recruiting territory.
Responsible for assisting prospective students and their families through the financial aid process including soliciting receipt of the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) or CSS Profile for international students, communicating financial aid awards and collecting required verification documents.
Provide effective follow-up with prospective students throughout the recruiting process via phone calls, scheduled meetings, emails, text messaging and mailed correspondence.
Execute phone call, text or visit strategies to keep prospective students and families informed and engaged.
Participate in scheduled admissions events on campus.
Generate weekly enrollment projection for assigned recruiting territory and present updates during staff meetings.
Maintain travel records and submit travel expense reports according to institutional policy.
Collaborate with other departments, such as financial aid, marketing, housing, dining, student business services and academic advising, to streamline processes and improve the overall student experience.
Supervises and assigns duties for the Student Assistants as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, goal driven environment.
Ability to work some weekends and evenings.
Must possess a valid driver's license and must be able to travel.
Must be able to perform duties within the normal bounds of an office environment.

Knowledge of College policies, procedures and culture is preferred.
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively when faced with frequent interruptions and will be able to establish priorities, work independently, multi-task and proceed with objectives with limited supervision.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
