Plant Supervisor Reports To:
Production Superintendent Summary/Objective This position is responsible for the safety, quality, productivity, and cleanliness of the plant and other production areas; regulatory compliance and documentation of sanitization requirements for equipment, personal hygiene and disease control; and leading, managing and holding productions associates accountable for their responsibilities.
The supervisor must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
The Animal Plant Supervisor is expected to maintain a positive work environment that aligns with Uckele's mission, vision and core values.
Essential Functions Plans and directs the work activities for the plant floor.
Reads, analyzes and approves production schedules, batch sheets, and fill tickets as required.
Ensures that 6S protocol, sanitation requirements and Standard Operation Procedures are followed.
Confers with other management, supervisors, scheduling, maintenance and quality to resolve work concerns and coordinates activities within the department.
Participates as an active member of the Safety Team, performs weekly safety audits and promotes a safe work environment.
Participates as an active member of the AP Corrective Action Team.
Leads/manages production associates and enforces all company rules, regulations and policies.
Responsible to report any and all, major or minor food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Promote food safety and quality awareness throughout the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies To be successful in this position the Supervisor must:
Be able to work independently and handle multiple projects at the same time with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Have excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills.
Understand/have knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis.
Be trained on and familiar with all daily sanitation requirements in the Animal Plant.
Be trained and familiar with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
Be trained on and familiar with all safety policies and procedures.
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
Have knowledge/training on 6S protocol.
Be able to use Microsoft Office.
Be able to build, maintain and promote a positive work environment that aligns with the company mission, vision and core values.
Physical Environment/ Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The associate will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend, or stoop to perform certain tasks.
The associate will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The associate must be able to wear personal PPE, including gloves, masks, etc.

The associate may be required to obtain a forklift certification in order to perform forklift duties.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Associates in the Animal Plant may be exposed to raw ingredients and food allergens (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat).
Work Hours This is a full-time position, with a generally set schedule (1st, 2nd or 3rdshift).
However, the associate may be required to work overtime or work a flexible schedule based on operational need.
Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred or Associates degree with 2 years of supervisor experience or 4 years of supervisor experience.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
