Adrian Public Schools - website DAYS/HOURS 08/28/23 - 10/30/23 SALARY Non Union Position $5,000 stipend SUMMARY This position is a part time position that requires working hours outside of the normal school day and the possibility of some requirements during the school day.
The employee will be responsible for implementing a planned strength program with high school athletes.
This could include setting up and tearing down of stations, organizing drills, supervision of athletes, among other duties.
This position is a seasonal stipend position for the 4 seasons during the school year and summer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must have regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
Teach sound and updated techniques of strength training.
Attend practices in season and out.
Is responsible for the supervision of athletes.
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area assigned to the sport for practices.
Maintains accurate records and results for athletes.
Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and reports breach of such standards.
Maintains competency in knowledge of the rules and interpretations, contest procedures, and general information about all aspects of strength training.
Follows all rules concerning state and district guidelines regarding student safety.
Is competent in CPR and basic First Aid and works with the training staff to develop a sound program of injury prevention and follow up.
Works closely with the Strength Coordinator in scheduling workouts.
Maintains updated inventory and recommends purchase of equipment and supplies.
Maintains records of student attendance and compliance with the Athletic Department.
Account for all equipment within the program.
Develops a consistent and positive public communications procedure through the school and the media to inform the community about the program offerings.
Support and uphold the District Student Conduct Code.
Attends all necessary meetings on the district and department level.
Evaluation of student performance.
Evaluation of the program.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee athletes.
Supervise any volunteers.
Supervise student athletes in programs.
Supervise any students or persons associated with strength training.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Certification in CPR, First- aid is recommended.
LANGUAGE SKILLS The ability to read and interpret documents, instructional manuals, technical reports, procedures, and rulings.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of students or employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS The ability to calculate figures and amounts, to work with percentages, The ability to apply basic concepts in algebra and geometry.
To have some computer literacy.
The ability to work with statistics.
REASONING ABILITY The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
The ability to problem solve various situations.
The ability to use sound judgment in making decisions that affect the program.
